The Anvil is for the ones who want to go further. Same Smidge build quality and composite construction as the Breeze — but squared off, taller, and built to handle the tracks your mates said you couldn’t tow a trailer on. Off-road suspension, aluminium frame construction, and proper off-grid capability. If the Breeze is a long weekend at the coast, the Anvil is a week in the high country.

Key Differences

The Breeze is your classic teardrop — lighter at just 590 kg, designed for on-road touring, and towable by a huge range of vehicles including electric cars and hatchbacks. The Anvil is the squaredrop — a more robust, off-road capable trailer built for the tracks less travelled. It’s longer, taller, and heavier, with composite construction on an aluminium frame and a slightly different kitchen layout with the fridge mounted in the front toolbox. Both run a 120Ah AGM battery and 80L of fresh water. Neither has stand-up headroom — they’re camper trailers, not caravans.

Common Questions

FAQ

The Anvil has a tare weight of 850 kg and a GVM of 1,200 kg. You’ll need a vehicle with a minimum towing capacity of 1,200 kg — most mid-size SUVs and all 4WDs will handle it comfortably. Check your vehicle’s towing capacity in the owner’s manual or on the compliance plate.

Yes. The Anvil runs 265/75 R16 off-road tyres, full articulation coupling, leaf spring suspension with rebound, and disc brakes. It’s been tested on some of Australia’s toughest tracks including Blue Rag Range in the Victorian High Country and Moon Rock in Lithgow.

The Anvil is bigger, heavier, and more capable. It’s 32cm taller, 98cm longer overall, and weighs 260 kg more. The squared roofline gives you extra headroom throughout. The fridge sits in the front toolbox instead of the rear galley. And the construction adds an aluminium frame to the composite panels for extra rigidity on rough tracks.

No — the Anvil is a camper trailer, not a caravan. There is no onboard toilet or shower. What it does have is a fully equipped rear galley kitchen, a queen-size bed, and enough power and water to stay off-grid for days.

Every Smidge comes with a 3-year warranty and is built to Australian Design Rules and VSB compliance standards. The Anvil is finished and quality-checked at our Thornleigh NSW facility.

Some accessories can be retro-fitted but most are best specified at the time of order. Talk to the team about what you want and we can advise on what’s possible post-purchase.
